Abstract

Abstract: A series of non-covalent hybrids of 5′-pyrene conjugates of homo-oligoribonucleotides and homo-oligodeoxyribonucleotides of different length with oxidized carboxyl-functionalized single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) was prepared. The comparative study of adsorption of 5′-pyrene conjugates of oligonucleotides onto SWCNT surface has been performed. The features of the hybrids formation were studied by measuring of ζ-potential and fluorescence titration. Pyrene conjugates of oligoribonucleotides were shown to interact with SWCNTs more efficiently than oligodeoxyribonucleotides, with oligonucleotide length slightly hindering the adsorption. The TEM study proved the adsorption of pyrene conjugates of oligonucleotides onto the surface of functionalized SWCNTs, with the sites of adsorption being visualized after staining by contrasting agent.
